Srinagar: Suspected militants today targeted an Aircel and a Vodafone showroom around 11:00 A.M. at Karan Nagar in Srinagar. No one was injured in the incidents which took place within minutes of each other.

Police officials said that, “two unidentified assailants entered an Aircel office in Karan Nagar business centre and asked the staff to close their business and leave the office and two grenades were hurled.”

The officer said all check points in the city have been alerted after the incident. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.

In May, six people were killed and more than 50 communications towers were shut down in the Sopore area of Northern Kashmir after a string of attacks and threats by terrorists.
