2.63 million dollars has been willingly paid by an anonymous benefactor who won the charity auction on eBay to raise funds for the Glide Foundation, San Francisco, an entity that is responsible for feeding the needy. Up for grabs lunch with just the guru of Omaha, says that for years the foundation by auctioning his presence as a commensal.
Auctions undertaken to date have helped raise up to 8.56 million euros. This year’s highest bid ever made. The anonymous benefactor has wrought the record previously established by Zhao Danyang, a hedge fund manager in Hong Kong. To dine with the billionaire CEO of Berkshire Hathaway had offered 2.11 million U.S. dollars.
A group led by Courtney Wolfe Salida Capital had won the auction with a bid last year from 1.68 million dollars. This year the participants were 9. The auction was opened June 6 and closed on 11 to 22:30 (New York time). The total number of bids on eBay were 77.
