8 Series Number assigned to RCOM by DOT
Reliance Communications is ranked “Asia’s Top 5 Most Valuable Telecom Companies,” India’s foremost and genuinely integrated telecommunications service provider confirmed the first ever mobile number series beginning with “8”. The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has allotted 80 and 81 mobile series for Reliance Mobile. The brand new number series beginning with 8088 will be available solely under Reliance GSM service in Karnataka, 8099 for Andhra Pradesh, 8100 for Kolkata, 8110 for West Bengal, 8102 for Bihar, 8103 for Madhya Pradesh circle.
Hitherto, the customers were provisioned with the numbers beginning with 9 series. Reliance Communications is offering the “8” series on both its prepaid and postpaid platforms across its GSM network in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
Announcing the roll-out of its “8” series, Mr Rupak Agarwal, Karnataka Circle Head, Reliance Communications said, they have swollen with pride that they have been allotted with the new number series commencing with 8088. The number beginning with 8 which is ordinarily related with the STD code of Bangalore divulges a peculiar notion, a special feeling.
He further added, “We are sure that the new 8088 series will help our customers differentiate our services in a crowded 9 series market and provide the necessary innovative value.”
