U.S. stock futures advanced Tuesday, a day after the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished below the 10,000 mark for the first time since early November. With investors encouraged by signs the EU could bail out Greece, bargain hunters searched for deals following the selloff.

S&P 500 futures rose 9.5 points to 1065.40 and Nasdaq 100 futures added 16.5 points to 1751. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 69 points to 9,964.

U.S. stocks dropped Monday for the third time in four sessions, with the S&P 500 falling 0.9% and the Dow industrials falling over 1%.

Amgen Inc. (AMGN) said the last of three clinical trials pitting its experimental bone drug denosumab against Novartis AG’s (NVS) Zometa met its primary and secondary goals. Amgen, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN, $57.46, -$0.22, -0.38%) rose 1.65 percent to $58.41 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, while on Monday, shares of Amgen fell 0.38 percent, closed on $57.46.

Lincoln National Corp. (LNC) swung to a fourth-quarter profit on higher revenue, as the year-earlier results at the insurer were hurt by the volatile financial markets and steep charges. Lincoln National Corp. (NYSE:LNC, $23.50, -$0.22, -0.93%) jumped 3.19 percent to $24.25 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, while on Monday, Lincoln National shares dropped 0.93 percent, closed on $23.50.

Atmel Corp.’s (ATML) fourth-quarter loss–its sixth in the past two years–widened on a big write-down, but margins increased from the third quarter on higher factory utilization levels and more sales of higher-margin chips. The semiconductor maker’s results topped expectations. Atmel Corporation (NASDAQ:ATML, $4.80, -$0.01, -0.21%) rose 2.29 percent to $4.91 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, while on Monday, shares of Atmel fell 0.21 percent, closed on $4.80.

Biogen Idec reported higher fourth-quarter earnings Tuesday, due in part to an almost 40% jump in sales of its new multiple sclerosis drug Tysabri. The Cambridge, Mass.-based biotech firm said it earned $306 million, or $1.06 a share, compared with $207 million, or 70 cents a share, for the same period in 2008. Biogen Idec Inc. (NASDAQ:BIIB, $52.84, -$0.69, -1.29%) jumped 1.91 percent to $53.85 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, while on Monday, Biogen Idec shares dropped 1.29 percent, closed on $52.84.

lpha Natural Resources Inc. (ANR) reported that its fourth-quarter net income increased to $17.947 million or $0.15 per share from $5.608 million or $0.08 per share last year. Income per share from continuing operations decreased to $0.17 from $0.49 prior year. Adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations was $0.51 compared to a loss of $0.19 per share prior year. Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:ANR, $40.40, -$0.77, -1.87%) rose 3.02 percent to $41.62 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, while on Monday, shares of Alpha Natural fell 1.87 percent, closed on $40.40.

Molson Coors Brewing Co. reported Tuesday that its fourth-quarter profit more than doubled after accounting for favorable tax issues, but it said consumer demand remains sluggish. Molson Coors (TAP) earned $222.1 million, or $1.19 a share, from $93.7 million, or 51 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter. Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE:TAP, $41.31, +$0.09, 0.22%) jumped 0.99 percent to $41.72 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, even on Monday, Molson Coors shares were up 0.22 percent, closed on $41.31.

Iac/Interactivecorp.’s (IACI) fourth-quarter net loss attributable to the company was $1.01 billion or $7.94 per share versus a profit of $227.42 million or $1.57 per share last year. IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ:IACI, $21.16, -$0.01, -0.05%) rose 6.33 percent to $22.50 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, while on Monday, shares of IAC/InterActiveCorp fell 0.05 percent, closed on $21.16.

AECOM Technology Corp. (ACM) reported first-quarter net income of $46 million or $0.40 per share, compared to $41 million or $0.38 per share in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $1.48 billion, up from $1.45 billion in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $1.53 billion for the quarter. AECOM Technology Corp. (NYSE:ACM, $25.80, +$0.35, 1.38%) jumped 1.94 percent to $26.30 on Tuesday morning pre-market trading session, even on Monday, Aecom shares were up 1.38 percent, closed on $25.80.
