The seven-day 10th Auto Expo 2010 kick started from 5th January 2010 at Pragati Maidan. All the new bikes and cars will be displayed. A common platform is provided to all the Auto manufacturers, traders, exporters and importers through this event. It is organized in cooperation by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Most manufacturers planned to launch their cars on the first day of the Auto Expo. In order to get the attention, Chevy, Audi and Renault planned to launch their cars just a day before. A group of 50 vintage cars will be displayed at the Auto Expo. Small cars will make big influence at the Auto Expo this year. Not less than six new small cars are set for debut.
Toyota is set to launch two cars at the Expo, a global compact car and its hybrid champ, the Prius. Volkswagen, German auto giant will also launch its Polo hatch while the sister brand Skoda will debut the compact SUV, called the Yeti, for the Indian market. Maruti will exhibit global concept called the R3 and we will see the launching of a Versa-like van called Eeco whereas Hyundai will show the electric i10.
General Motors has launched Chevrolet Beat in India at an unvanquishable price. The Chevrolet Beat is the first in a series of small cars to be unveiled in this edition of the Auto Expo. General Motors is wagering big on this car. It is anticipating a sales target of over 50,000 vehicles for this calendar year. The Tata Motors India has launched three new cars at Auto Expo India 2010. It launched a 7-seater passenger car named Tata Aria, a multi-purpose vehicle, MUV, named Tata Venture, and another vehicle named Magic Iris.
Jaguar model will also be launched by Tata Motors at the show.
Tata will exhibit the brand new Aria which is the first crossover with 4WD. Aria sports a 2.2-L Dicor engine that generates 140PS and 320Nm of maximum Torque.
