Lawyers for Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC, $17.24, +$0.45, 2.69%) and former Merrill Lynch & Co brokerage chief Robert McCann were in talks Wednesday to resolve his lawsuit accusing the bank of blocking him from taking a job with a rival.

Flextronics International Ltd. (NASDAQ:FLEX, $7.51, +$0.59, 8.49%) got a boost from CNBC personality Jim Cramer who talked up the electronic manufacturing services industry on his show late Tuesday, saying a return to technology demand will have the industry booming. Cramer listed Flextronics, which makes outsourced parts and equipment for manufacturers, as his favorite stock in the industry and predicted shares have lots more room to run up.
Rogers Corp. (NYSE:ROG, $29.27, +$2.26, 8.37%) raised its third-quarter outlook, saying sales of high-performance foams in the cellphone and consumer-electronics markets were surprisingly strong.
SLM Corp.’s (NYSE:SLM, $9.16, +$0.49, 5.68%) modified Dutch auction to repurchase two note series was expanded to $1.24 billion as the company, commonly known as Sallie Mae, received tenders totaling that amount.
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE:APC, $64.88, +$5.71, 9.65%) and Tullow Oil PLC (OTC:TUWLY, $196.15, +$18.20, +10.23%) said Wednesday they have discovered oil off the coast of Sierra Leone, a find that analysts say signals huge potential for further discoveries in an area stretching east through the waters of Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire into Ghana.
