A new alliance between Bharti Airtel and Cisco was announced today. The aim of the strategic alliance is to develop an enterprise that manufactures products for all types of enterprises viz small, medium, and large. The main products that are to be marketed will include Cisco Telepresence, connected branch services, and hosted unified communications etc. This will be accomplished by utilising Bharti Airtel’s network space and Cisco IP technologies. The team will be lead by Mr S. Mittal who will ensure that all the requirements of the large businesses and the small and medium businesses are met with and delivery of products upto the satisfaction level of the same are ensured.
The focus of the company is now shifting towards B2B ie base to base that comprise small ,medium and large companies all together. This initiative seems to be a very successful plan as according to the estimates by experts, India’s B2B market is in the boom phase and initiatives like these will appeal to the enterprises and will be successful in the long run. If this alliance turns out to a success then the leadership of the company will be in both the B2B and the B2C sectors. Thus the overall turnover of the company is also expected to increase.
According to a statement made by a senior executive from Cisco, The deployment of 700 million broadband customers, which is a commitment to the India government and is expected to be fulfilled in the next 5 years will surely create and deliver transformational services for the various business sectors in the country.
Such strategic alliances are good for the Indian economy and should be encouraged as they aim and ensure that the best services are provided to the customers at competitive prices.
