According to Mr. Vinod Rai, the auditor and the Comptroller and Auditor General, the audit will take into account all the organizations which were involved in preparation of the Games. The audit will be an all encompassing one. The auditors will investigate 24 departments in all, amongst which, 15 are a part of the Delhi Government whereas 4 are connected to the Organizing Committee. According to Rai, the audit report will be handed in within three months because any further delay would decrease the credibility of the probing. About 100 people have been hired who will look into the purchases and the agencies which have been involved.

On the other hand, the tenure of office of the people who were a part of the organization committee has been expanded for an indefinite time period. This decision was arrived at during a meeting of the Group of Ministers which was presided over by S. Jaipal Reddy.

The Income Tax Department as well as the Enforcement Department has reached the fag ends of their investigations which involved carefully going through all the documents of the Commonwealth Games. It has been reported that as soon as the investigation is wrapped up, summons will be sent to quite a few officials of the senior category who belong to the Organizing Committee.

Liu Xia, the wife of Liu Xiaobo, who has recently been declared as the Nobel Peace Prize winner, has been prevented from meeting the officials from Norway because she was kept under house arrest. Her husband had been jailed with regards to his rebellion against the Chinese Administration and the lack of Democracy and the milk of human kindness in it.

Liu Xia, had been under house arrest since the Nobel Committee, announced her husband as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution towards advocating of human rights and a change in the political outlook in China. Liu Xia said on a micro blogging site that though the Norwegian diplomats were interested in meeting her, they were prevented to do so by the Chinese authorities, right outside her door. She also said that she would be flying to Norway soon to accept the award on behalf of her dissident husband who has been sentenced to a jail term of 11 years under the charges of subversion.

The Norwegian Government had the same story to tell as far as the meeting was concerned. The embassy Spokeswoman confirmed that the officials from Norway had visited her in order to check on her condition but were barred from doing so.

Xia carries on with her contact with the outside world through Twitter now because her cell phone connection had been cut off. That connection got replaced but again was cut off. Her husband’s lawyers too have no way of getting in touch with her.

The good news is that the Sawai Mansingh Stadium will be able to keep hosting IPL matches. The journey for the Rajasthan Royals team might have come to an end but it is not so for the stadium in Jaipur.

According to Mr. C. P. Joshi, the President of the Rajasthan cricket Association, as well as the Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister, Jaipur will continue as a host for the future IPL matches. He also said that the infrastructure of Jaipur has reached international standards and due to the huge fan base in the city, Jaipur will continue as a host.

Mr. Joshi’s assurance came as a huge relief for the fans because in the year 2009, there was crisis within the RCA and hence the venue for a match had to be shifted to Nagpur. Jaipur was not even allowed to host any more matches before the problems were resolved. Joshi had played an instrumental role there in order to rejuvenate the scene of international cricket in Jaipur.

Mr. Joshi told the media that the preparations are going on in full swing for the upcoming India- New Zealand match which is due on the 2nd of December.

Mr. Joshi has not made any comments though on the BCCI’s decision of terminating the Rajasthan Royals team. He said that it is not possible for him to comment on it as he did not have the decision before him in writing.

The opening ceremony of XIX Common Wealth Games was held on Sunday in New Delhi. The whole program for the opening ceremony was simply great. In one word it was awesome. It left every body spell bound. Especially for the media who have been very much critical of the whole Common Wealth Games. The media for a change started praising Delhi’s effort for hosting such a wonderful show.

The Guardian said the show was as excellent. It is a matter of our national pride. The Telegraph described the whole event as the greatest sporting event that India has ever seen. Another daily named as Herald Sun that comes out from Melbourne compares the opening ceremony with the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics.

Another Australian Daily commented that at last India came up with her cultural pride.

The whole ceremony was held in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. It was very beautifully decorated. It seems as if it was the newly wed bride.

Different teams marched into the stadium. The Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bhindra got a stand ovation from the crowd. It was the most beautiful moment of the whole night.

Both Prince Charles and our President Pratibha Patel inaugurated the whole ceremony.

The whole cultural show rubbed off all the allegations of corruption, mismanagement.

It shows the whole world our culture, pride and our unity in diversity. It reflects the life of the common people.

In the end people have forgotten all the criticism. “Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto” has become the aim for all for the next 11 days.

He was given a report yesterday regarding the arrangements of the Commonwealth Games which are slated to be held between October 3rd to the 14th.

According to the Prime Minister, the decision as to whether the team will be sent to India completely lies with the ‘New Zealand Olympic Committee’. He also said that he would be pleased to see the Games commence provided they have enough security as well as adequate amenities for the sportspersons involved. As for his administration, they are just trying to provide their players with an accurate evaluation.

Mr. John Key also expressed that the recent developments are not very encouraging and the fact that the British have decided to pull out has given the participation scenario an interesting twist. He suggests that the New Zealand Olympic Committee should carry out a comparative analysis and then come to a decision.

He also commented on the other hand that if the Commonwealth Games did take place, then the future of the Games would be in doubt and it would not lead to a positive image of India in the international arena.

They claimed the footage shown by Australian TV crew was absolutely baseless and worthless.

After this incident S.Jaipal Reddy who leads the group of minister (GOM) in the Common Wealth Games commented that the whole incident took place when the security system was not present over there. He also reassured that all foreign tourists over there are completely secured. The security system have been tightened over there

Rajan Hagar who is the spoke person of Delhi Police said that the complete operation by Australian TV crew was completely worthless. Their aim was to create a false impression about the security system of India through out the whole world. They simply tired to divert the whole thing in a different direction. He also said that additional security system will be provided

They also said that the security over there is enhanced by the “lock down” system. Here the entire entire are is completely sealed. All the rooms are thoroughly checked before sealing. The seals are taken off when the Common Wealth official or players will enter these areas. All the footage shown by the Australian TV crew was completely planned. Bhagat also commented that the reporter was unaware of the fact that the sale of aluminum nitrate is prohibited in India. So the footage where the use of that was shown proves that it is preplanned. A journalist named as Mike Duffy claimed that he walked into the game venue with an explosive.

New Zealand has expressed serious doubts as to whether the Commonwealth Games will actually place. According to them the games have been already tainted by massive corruption charges, dengue and the most recent occurrence of the shootout at the tourists close to Jama Masjid. The latest that has shamed the Government of India is the accusations of the New Zealand team that the quarters which have been allotted to them in the games village are totally “uninhabitable”.

Dave Currie, who heads the chef de mission of New Zealand, has stated in an interview that considering the fact that the games village is still not ready for the athletes, there are fair chances of the Commonwealth Games not taking place at all. He also said that it would require a lot of effort to bring about some positive changes because the time span left is very little. The neatness, plumbing and other basic amenities leave a lot to be desired. The team has currently moved to a different tower where he says, arrangements are better but still not up to the mark. Team new Zealand will be arriving at their final decision on Friday as to whether to pull out or not.

Australian chef de mission on the other hand is pretty satisfied with the arrangements and has stated that the accommodations are not as bad as the New Zealand team has suggested. The arrangements of the commonwealth games had been previously criticized by Mike Fennel, the President of the Commonwealth Games Federation.
