Yesterday the famous micro blogging site Twitter has achieved an amazing figure of 5 billion tweets. Twitter has crossed the major milepost of five billionth tweets on Monday according to GigaTweet.com. No doubt 5 billion is a tremendous figure to reach for any website.
GigaTweet.com is a website which counts the number of tweeter messages spewed into the Twitter verse every second.Right now twitter has achieved a mark of 5,040,092,481 Tweets. Undoubtedly the changing numbers on site per second with such speed shows that twitter is now again going to achieve another milestone in very short span because the counting is going on with a rocket speed.
The former Current Media executive Robin Sloan posted Twitter’s 5 billionth tweet in the form of a reply to another user that otherwise read only “Oh lord”.
“The Pentagigatweet” is the nickname given by Solan for the historic tweet. The Tweet has the number 5,000,000,000 in the URL. And as of 2.20 pm IST on Tuesday.
Twitter hit the 1 billion mark last November, having been around since 2006. Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has not made any comment on the accomplishment.
