Y.S.Dadwal is the outgoing Delhi Police Commissioner. He was given a warm farewell on Wednesday. In his farewell speech he said that under his tenure the police force had successfully faced different challenges. He also said that Delhi police also ensured complete security during Commonwealth Games. It has been reported that Dadwal inspected a parade. Over there he was accompanied by other top officials including Special Commissioner, Joint Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of the force.
In his farewell speech he said that they had kept all promises that they made in last three years. He also said that they have successfully met all challenges. He also said that memories of Commonwealth Games are still very fresh in their minds. According to him the way Delhi police performed its duties will be written and spoken about for a long period of time. He had praised each and every member of Delhi Police force for the dedication and commitment they showed during Commonwealth Games. Dadwal also said that even Home Minister P.Chidambaram has praised Delhi Police for their excellent performance.
According to him, the actual credit goes to every member of the police force. They have worked so hard to make Delhi secure for every body. They have displayed tremendous commitment. They kept their promises to make Delhi give a safe and secure during the international event. He also pointed out that number of heinous crimes fell by 46.4% during the sporting event and the number of fatal accidents fell by 47.1%
General B.K. Gupta, who was Director of Tihar Jail, has been appointed the new Police Commissioner of Delhi.
