Home » Science & Tech » Firefox 3.5 version is Number 1 browser in the world: StatCounter

According to StatCounter, Firefox 3.5 version is currently most used browser in the world, just edging out the use of Internet Explorer 7 (the second on the list). The statistic was created from the collection of data from thousands of sites, recording the hits to your pages for different browsers and their versions in use.

Currently, the version 3.5 of Firefox has 21.93% of total use, followed closely by version 7 of Internet Explorer, with 21.20%. IE8 has 20.33% and 13.89% IE6. This is a point to celebrate, but we cannot forget that the war is far from being won. Firefox 3.5 can be winning all versions of Internet Explorer, in isolation, but is still trailing badly in the sum total. Putting all versions of Internet Explorer, use reaches 55.44% of the total, while the versions in use of the browser Mozilla, including Firefox 3.5, 2.0 and much older, have 32.12% of the pie.
