Five upcoming parking lots in Gurgoan courtesy DMRC
The overall number of parking lots of the Delhi Metro will be 63 once the Gurgaon section is opened for the public. Trial runs on the seven-km-long elevated Gurgaon section will begin Jan 29. After the trial run the Gurgaon metro line will become functional and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is equipped with all the arrangements necessary to give parking facility to commuters who wish to park their vehicles and want to travel through metro for reaching their desired destination.
The DMRC officials informed that the parking space will be available at HUDA City Centre, IFFCO Chowk, MG Road, Sikanderpur and Guru Dronacharya metro stations of Gurgoan area. HUDA City Centre metro station parking lot is considered as the second largest parking lot on the metro network with a parking space of 6,500 sq. m.
The other four metro stations in Gurgaon will be :
IFFCO Chowk : will have parking space of 5,950 sq. m.
MG Road: will have parking space of 0,876 sq. m.
Sikanderpur: will have parking space of 1,577 sq. m.
Guru Dronacharya: will have parking space of 4,572 sq. m.
Till date the biggest parking lot created by Delhi metro is at Kanaiyah Nagar of 7,042 sq. m.The official from DMRC has clarified that in this plan, “The total available parking space provided by the DMRC will near 1,70,000 square m, in which approximately 15,000 four-wheelers and 20,000 two-wheelers can be accommodated.”.
