Google wants to make it easier for mobile users to access its search engine, and it has optimized its search results for a variety of different handsets and languages.  Any Android mobile and iPhone user can access the mobile internet, then now have access to newly optimized Google Mobile search. It reaches 38 different languages in over 60 countries.

The optimized Google mobile search experience began last December when it was rolled out to iPhone and Android phones in the US. Then in March, it was rolled out to iPhone and Android phones in over 20 countries.

The format will be better suited for a small screen, and the results will blend in relevant data from Google News, Google Images, Product Search, and other Google properties. Additionally, Google said it is tailoring the results to be relevant for a phone. For example, if a user is searching for local restaurants, the phone number of those places would appear prominently in the results.

All Google search options for Android and iPhone lead to results that load faster and are formatted to fit the screen so you don’t have to zoom or scroll side-to-side.

The optimized search results pages are currently available in U.S. English for Android and for iPhone and iPod touch devices with firmware 2.x. If you prefer, you can always view desktop search result pages by selecting the “Classic” link at the bottom of any page.

A report from the Kelsey Group said the market for mobile search ads will balloon from $20 million in 2008 to $1.3 billion by 2013. In order to capitalize on this, Google has brought its lucrative AdSense program to the mobile Web, and it recently enabled mobile developers to use it in mobile applications.
