Google ready to fortify Video Conferencing potentials
Google is ready to fortify its video chat potentialities. Google is set to roll out their first update in a long line of updates that will include multi-user video conferencing. The video conferencing will be rolled out soon and the rest of their plan will be executed within the next 12 months aacording to Google Apps product manager, Rishi Chandra while talking to SFGate. “This [current Gmail capability] is the first step in a much broader set of features we hope to roll out over the next six to 12 months around video [and voice] chat capabilities,” said Rishi Chandra, a Google Apps product manager. “It’s a great opportunity for us to push that space along.”
Google acquired Web and video conferencing software in 2007 from Swedish company Marratech. The voice and video chat feature in the company’s email se
rvice, Gmail, is presently limited to one-to-one communication, nevertheless, Google wants to extend this potentiality to more than two participants.
