Indian can improve home with Sony Bravia LCD
Sony India on Monday announced the launch of its new range of 14 new Bravia LCD models. Addressing a press conference here, Sunil Nayyar, general manager, sales, Sony India, said the company plans to “widen the gap with its nearest competitor in the LCD market” this fiscal, with an innovative line-up and increased marketing spends.
Now these new Sony Bravia LCD models can improve Indian homes. Sony has introduced 13 new models in the S, V, W and Z series. The new BRAVIA series is equipped with technologies such as Motionflow 200 HZ, Full HD and Bravia Engine 3. Sony Bravia ZX1 is the world’s slimmest LCD TV measuring only 9.9mm.
To capitalise on the swelling LCD market in the country, the company aims to sell 450,000 units in 2009-10 against 280,000 units sold in the last fiscal. Nayaar said the total market size for LCD TVs is expected to grow to 15 lakh units per annum in this year from just 300,000 units in 2007-08.
Nayyar said the LCD TV series in the 19, 26, 32, 40, 46, 52, 55 and 70 inches range carry a price tag between Rs 15,900 and Rs 20 lakh. Its close competitors are Samsung, LG and Panasonic. A month and half ago, Samsung had introduced its slim 29.9 mm LED television sets in India.
