Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines Increases Fuel Surcharges up by Rs 200 – Today, the domestic private air carriers like Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines have increased their fuel surcharges up by Rs 200 on domestic flights.
Both domestic carriers have stated that this increase in fuel surcharges has come into force with immediate effect.
As per a Kingfisher Airlines statement, it was said that “Effective today, the fuel surcharge levied by Kingfisher Airlines for travel on domestic sector stands revised upward.”
According to the reports, on flights below 1,000 kilometers, the fuel surcharge has been raised by Rs 100 whereas for the flights above 1,000 kilometers, the fuel surcharge has been raised by Rs 200.
One of the Jet Airways representatives commenced, “We have increased the fuel surcharge by up to Rs 200 on all our domestic flights across Jet Airways, JetLite and Jet connect with immediate effect.”
Thinking seriously over this issue, Budget carrier Spice Jet has been also examining to apply a similar kind of hike to partially offset, thus raising operating costs. The CEO of Spice Jet, Mr. Sanjay Agarwal stated, “We are contemplating a nominal Rs 100-200 increase to partially offset the recent nine per cent increase in fuel price.”
