Kerala Police is Ready to Trap Cyber Crimes

There are number of brilliant mindsets are emerging in this world who tries hacking, threatening emails ,cheating, breaking passwords and so on and involved in doing
cyber crimes. For trapping and dealing with that the Kerala government is taking all possible steps and now well equipped with new technologies.All the police stations are now interconnected with internet. Now the Kerala government is planning to reach the next step that is to set up special cells to trap software related crimes.

In Kochi The national seminar on ‘Cyber Safe-2009’ held on Thursday and during the seminar DGP Jacob Punnoose shared his thoughts with public and media .He said ,” A police officer who does not know how to use computer will be a useless officer in the near future.” “Policemen who refuse to change their outlook will become outdated in this technological era. The police must change its attitude and behaviour with the public. The developments taking place in technology is forcing the police to change,”

Kochi City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham said “The seminar will also deliberate on various related topics, including the importance of creating awareness among students on cyber crimes and how to secure them from becoming victims of such crimes”

The State DGP of Kerela Police, Jacob Punnoose have taken the firm decision of establishing cyber cells in all districts to deal with cyber crimes. In fact Jacob Punnoose feels that the cyber cells alone will not work they should have cyber crime fighting tools and also interaction facilities with other states too. Jacob Punnoose has also emphasised the necessity for updating computer concerned information on regular basis because the new forms of cyber crimes are daily been reported from all over the world.

Punnoose informed that, they have plans to educate police personnel and they intend to set up cyber training faculty too in order to train them to fight and trap the cyber criminals.
