Kumbh Mela 2010 , millions of devotees took holy dip
On Thursday millions of devotees have taken bath into sacred Ganges in middle of Vedic chants and temple bells at Haridwar on Har Ki Pauri. The water was cold but does not affect on faith of devotees.
Millions of devotes from the country and world reached on the first day of Kumbh Mela at Haridwar and took bath in Ganga under a tight security. For the whole day thousands of devotes took a holy dip in holy river Ganga . The Devotes continuously repeated “Jai Ganges” and ” Har-Har Mahadev”
The bath began from Makar Sankranti day and this series will continue till January 15 (Muni Amawasya) ,After every 12 years people come to rejoice Kumbh Mela .
After the dip in the Ganga people worshipped Sun and Lord Shiva. Today the bath was for public or common man. Sage and saints will take bath on January 20. They are currently in Jwalapur ‘akharas’.
In order to ensure full proof safety government has taken serious steps. Quick Action Force, anti-riot squad, state police and army troops have been deployed at various locations.
A senior police officer said, “Although there is no threat to security but we do not want to take any chance.”
