Maruti Suzuki India to Release Van as Substitute of Versa – The country’s biggest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) stated that it will release a new van as a substitute of its aging model Versa within this year. It has been also reported that the production of Versa has been stopped. In addition, the sales of Versa were also very low.
As per Maruti Suzuki India Managing Executive Officer at Engineering Mr. I V Rao said to reporters on the sidelines of fourth environmentally friendly vehicle conference, “We will be launching a new van by the end of this fiscal. This vehicle will replace the Versa, whose production has already been stopped.
Though, there is no idea given by him regarding the costing of soon to be launched vehicle.
Maruti Suzuki India is also looking forward to manufacture one million vehicles by the end of this year. I V Rao stated, “Hopefully, we will have one million units in production by the end of this financial year by utilizing our full capacity”. In addition, now the company is working on manufacturing all its models Bharat Stage-IV compliant as needed under the government norms and standards.
According to I V Rao, “We have not completed BS-IV compliance norms on all our models but we are working towards that direction”. As an add-on, company is focusing on electric and hybrid cars but yet has no plans further for a full fledged release of vehicles with any alternate fuel technologies.
