BlueEfficiency technology was announced for India by Mercedes Benz. Mercedes-Benz, a German manufacturer of luxury automobiles launched the new E350 CDI BlueEfficiency car today in the Indian market. The new E-Class from the Mercedes Benz stable gets a badge of being the world’s most aerodynamically efficient luxury saloon.
Priced at Rs.48.08 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi, powered by the diesel variant, the new E-Class is now available in India in the top-of-line avant-garde styling line powered by a three-litre OM642 V6 diesel engine that churns out a whopping 540 Nm of torque at 1600-2400 rpm. The New E-Class is impressive in its performance.
The technology “BlueEfficiency” is a package that facilitates to save fuel due to the innovative changes made during the design and engineering of the E-Class model. It helps the car as a complete package of efficiency-enhancing technologies to derive better fuel efficiency and lower emission.
Other distinct features include – an arrow shaped bonnet featuring three louvers and chrome surround, sporty rear bumper adding to a sense of width & attractively styled 17” light alloy wheels accentuating the muscular appeal of the new E-Class. The New E-Class has it all – grand looks, attractive functionality and great features. With aerodynamically forged light with aluminum alloy wheels, rear designed rear view mirrors, reduced height to allow lesser wind resistance, optimized tyre rolling resistance, closed underbody, new designs for the headlamps, grills and the hood that lowers the cars drag by 7 per cent, power steering hydraulic pump driven by electric motor which remains active only when the steering wheel is turned, energy and fuel consumption has been reduced considerably.
Furthermore, the new E-Class also offers as standard – PRE-SAFE, NECK-PRO, PARKTRONICS with the new Advanced Parking Guidance which aids the driver to hunt for suitable parking space extending visual and audible steering support during parking. This entire innovative feature sets new benchmark in passenger safety with the New E-Class.
The new E-Class Saloon is set to receive the “Design for Environment” certification from the South German Technical Inspection Authority.
