New year begins and the wait is about to over for the release of the next version of its Firefox 3.6 browser from Mozilla. In the first quarter of this year hopefully it will be out. Firefox 4 is now planned for next year i.e. early 2011.

Currently available in beta, Firefox 3.6 is the first quarter of 2010 due to delays. An interim version of 3.7 would be available before the arrival of Firefox 4 now planned by 2011.

This version of the browser should mark a milestone with an overhaul of the interface. Stephen Horlander, the designer who works on the Windows version of Firefox 4 has recently posted on his blog catches and explanations on the path it follows. One trend is to build on Windows 7 and Office 2010 to rethink the menu. Horlander has retained the idea of a button in the upper left of the window to free up space in the navigation bar
