Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of and the founder of Infosys is searching options for relocating from the Hotel Oberoi, where he was staying, as is yet to get his official residence.
Earlier also ,finance minister Pranab Mukherjee ordered external affairs minister SM Krishna and his Junior Shashi Tharoor to vacate their five star suites and shift back to their respective state bhavans .The reports revealed that for the last three months SM Krishna and his junior Shashi Tharoor were staying in five –star hotel suites at ITC Maurya and taj mahal (man singh road) respectively. On the order both the minister has been shifted Krishna had moved to FSI( foreign Service Institue) guest house and on the other hand Tharoor at Indian navy guest house.
Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India is the latest to join a host of politicians taking to austerity and is likely to shift to the modest Karnataka Bhavan here from a 5-star hotel.
The Chairman of UID is right now in Banglore and expected to come back to Delhi on Tuesday and likely to take a call on his next residence. Of the many options that his office is looking at, the modest Karnataka Bhavan is likely to be on his priority list.
