Novell signing OEM contracts with ISV’s for new offerings – A global software company, Novell specialized in enterprise OS such as SUSE Linux will be signing up OEM contracts with ISVs for new offerings on SUSE studio.

Last week a web based service, SUSE studio has created software appliances on SUSE Linux in India. Novell wishes to be one of the top notch companies in the banking and government sections, especially in e-governance projects with the help of OEM partners.

As per Sandeep Menon, country head of Novell India added, “The ISV channel will be a separate channel. We will go to the ISVs and sign OEM contracts with them”. Novell will aid OEM partners co-marketing, technical support and special OEM prices. There will no as such direct competing price to the customer and as per the volume of the deal; each agreement will be single in nature.

It has been estimated that in the starting of November month, 90% of Novell’s business will come through the partner ecosystem and about 70% will be earmarked to support partners. Besides Redington, Novell has been distributed through Sonata software and Inflow technologies and ISV contracts with IBM, HP, Ingres and SAP along with other global alliances.
