United States is about to keep their commitment to provide India with high tech exports. They will also support New Delhi’s membership of premiere nuclear clubs. In fact they will also support India in acting as a global power especially in East Asia.  This was decided when President Barack Obama held talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.  It was reported that India’s concern for Pakistan and China is dominating the bilateral meet between Singh and Obama.

Obama however is not providing unequivocal support to New Delhi’s claim for a permanent seat in Security Council. It has disappointed many Indians. However it is expected that he will push for a bigger role for India in United Nation and in the International system. Lalit Mansingh who was India’s former ambassador to US told to IANS that Obama is in favour of India’s claim for permanent seat in Security Council but he will not declare openly in favour of India.

It has been reported that there will be some positive development on high tech exports. Indian officials are expecting that US will be expressing their intention to amend export control laws in the India US joint law statement. It has been said that while Obama was having a meeting with business honchos in Mumbai he had signaled that he is serious about eradicating “unwanted restrictions” which stands as the main obstacle in trading between two countries

It has been informed by some sources that US decision to support India for full membership in Nuclear Supplier Group, Missile Technology Control Regime, the Australian Group and Wassenaar Group will be reflected in the joint statement.

It has been reported by a source that India and US will be joining hands to combat terrorism. This has been declared by Obama in his speech before 26/11 victims in Mumbai on Saturday.
