Optima OP5-E 4.3-inch touchscreen MID: China based technology firm, Optima has introduced OP5-E MID, a new mobile internet device powered by the Maemo operating system. The 4.3-inch touch screen MID supports 3G and GPS.

The OP5-E brags of better specifications than the previous three devices from Nokia with its 806 MHz Marvell PXA320 CPU, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 for easy transfer of files and an astounding 2600 mAh battery that offers 8 hours of run time. This device sports a 4.3 inch 800 x 480 resolution screen, is 143 mm x 74 mm x 17.6 mm in size and weighs 300 grams. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera for capturing precious moments.

The Maemo based OP5-E will bundle up a 3.2-megapixel camera and voice call functionality. The 5.6” x 2.9” x 0.69” OP5-E incorporates an 806MHz Marvell PXA320 PCU along with 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM. The device will initially incorporate support for VoIP calls but will also incorporate full calling and SMS functionality later.

There’s GPS, a microSD slot for up to 16GB cards, and  2,600mAh battery good for up to 8hrs runtime.  Not bad for something weighing 10.6oz and looking far more slick.

This device is currently undergoing final software testing before release. However, there are no details about the actual release date or pricing.
