The Regional Science City (RSC), Lucknow has arranged special programs of solar eclipse of 2010, which is going to accomplish tomorrow, January 15. Now-a-days the country has came out from superstitious beliefs on solar eclipse. In fact, Indians have come forward to watch solar eclipse instead of hiding themselves at home because of superstitious beliefs.

Since we are nearing the millennium’s longest solar eclipse, most of the people are making various preparations to watch solar eclipse 2010. It is a very rare chance that happens once in a blue moon so they don’t want to miss it.

However, it is not possible for every one to make self arrangements to watch solar eclipse 2010. The Gujarat Regional Science City comes out with the great plan by making arrangements to study and to view 2010 solar eclipse.

RSC also conducted an orientation workshop on Wednesday at Science City in which the teachers, armatures, 150 science communicators of BRC and CRC coordinators, students from various colleges and schools have attended. It was the most beneficial program for astronomy enthusiastic who has gained a lot from this workshop.

RSC solar eclipse 2010 workshop was inaugurated by Ravi Saxena, who is the principal secretary of department of science and technology. In his speech he stated that “Eclipse is associated with despair, sadness and fear. When the sun and moon play the hide and seek game, the fear of demons takes place. But, with the advancement of science and technology, eclipses are now the major subject of learning and research”. By his speech the fear of solar eclipse shattered from every one’s mind and we can also realize how fast the world is moving towards science and scientific things.

RSC arranged NASA equipments to view this solar wonder safely. The telescope is fitted with perfect solar filters, pin-hole camera, solar filer goggles and solar projectors. Public can view the solar eclipse 2010 right from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm. RSC conducting the Live program that broadcast with live commentary. The LIVE program of RCS wills interact with students’ scientific experiments, scientists’ views on solar eclipse 2010, penetrations on LED screen and screen of eclipse films.

However, the clear vision of solar eclipse 2010 depends on the weather condition.

RSC also conducting educational program for common people and school students on the same day that starts at 10.30. There are no special charges for this RSC program except the normal entry fee.
