The Mozilla Foundation released yesterday a new beta version of iteration (beta 5), some 130 bug fixes. The final edition expected in the month of January 2010.
According to research firm StatCounter, Firefox 3.5 could surpass Internet Explorer 7 at the end of the year. Taking into account data from over three million websites, the survey estimated that the browser of the Mozilla Foundation reached a penetration rate of 21.45% against 21.47% for Internet Explorer.
Mozilla has sent its developers a new build of Firefox 3.6, which later became the public beta 5 browser. Anyway, Mozilla informed that on 1 December, the various beta installed and used by 500 000 users, 50% were on beta 4. The foundation requires a base of 650 000 users to ensure that this new version stable enough.
