It seems like the verbal skirmish between the two countries will never come to an end. Pakistan is gearing up for yet another bout of response after the Foreign Minister of India; Mr. S.M. Krishna said in the United Nations General Assembly that before pointing its fingers towards India, Pakistan should first analyze its own records of democracy and human rights. After his speech at the General Assembly, Mr. Krishna said that Pakistan’s efforts of trying to pull down India’s image before the entire world has not resulted into anything positive for the former.

The Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Mr. S.M. Krishna have repeatedly been saying that there is no alternative but to keep holding talks. On being asked as to how is the Indian Government planning to continue the peace process after this fallout, Mr. Krishna replied  “I was only reiterating the consistent policies that have been pursued by my government over a period of time on Kashmir.”

He also does not agree to the fact that the Indian Government has been thrown to the corner altogether. He thinks that these are merely antagonistic issues which touch upon “some of the issues we believe in.” so whenever those soft spots are prodded, India needs to respond suitably because it is an issue of national interest and being the representative of India at the United Nations General Assembly , he has only done his duty.
