Volkswagen Unveils New Beetle in India, Costing Rs. 21 Lakh – Today, German car manufacturer Volkswagen unveils its new vehicle christened ‘New Beetle’ that is a very modish and popular car. Finally, it has been released in India. The vehicle has been priced at Rs. 20.45 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
Volkswagen New Beetle will give tough competition to Fiat 500, which has acknowledged some good responses with the customers till now. It has been expected that Beetle will be priced anywhere between Rs. 15-20 lakhs. Though, it would be more expensive in Mumbai as compared to Delhi.
The Volkswagen Passenger cars member of board and director Mr. Neeraj Garg stated to reporters that, “The Beetle is the very first Volkswagen car people remember about, with its unique shape and reliability. We are excited to bring this iconic Beetle to India after its success across the world for decades.”
There is one more shocking as well as surprising news coming from company Volkswagen that it has been launching one other car with Beetle i.e. Touareg SUV. This vehicle has been priced at Rs. 52 lakh ex-showroom price in Delhi. Therefore, there are big two releases coming in from Volkswagen. They are really betting big as far as the numbers are referred.
Though the company has been close mouthed, but they are expecting to do approx. 500 units per year. As far as Beetle sales are related, this is quite a challenging target. Yet now, from all across the world, it has been manufactured only in Mexico. According to the company, if they touch about 2,000 units per year, they will look at a possibility of assembling it here in India.
In India, the car would be imported from Mexico in the CBU format and the company has 150 confirmed bookings for the New Beetle and its deliveries would start from tomorrow. Equipped with a 2-litre, paired six speed transmission and 4 cylinder petrol engine, the car has been meant for all speed cum modish car lovers.
