NEW DELHI: Indian manufacturer Lava International launched its much-awaited first smartphone Iris Pro 30 under its new Iris Pro premium series.
The Iris Pro was scheduled for a launch last year, but was launched today at New Delhi. The phone has premium features, but at Rs 15,999 price tag.
Lava Iris Pro 30 has a 4.7-inch IPS display (312 ppi) with a screen resolution of 1280X720 pixels. The IPS display has been made by sharp using the one glass solution (OGS) method and it keeps the Lava Iris Pro 4.7-inch screen display in a slim 7.5mm chassis. The phone weighs 114g, which does sound incredibly light.
The Iris Pro comes with 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and comes with Content Adaptive Backlight Control (CABC) for the display. It will feature 8MP auto-focus camera and a rare 3MP front camera. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and SGX544 GPU and will have face and voice unlock.
Lava Iris Pro 30 has a 2,000mAh battery allowing it to run 30% more than rival products, company claims is good enough for 4.5 hours of talktime and 400 hours on standby mode. Wireless connectivity options in the phone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS and 3G (HSPA+) network support.
In terms of storage, it features 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a microSD card. The phone supports 1080p video recording and playback. The phone will be available in India beginning the third week of January.
